HOMERUN BAND

Matteo Albarelli: vocals
Valerio Castiglioni: guitars
Andrea Ringoli: guitars
Walter Borrelli: hammond and keys
Paolo Luoni: bass
William Battiston: drums and percussions
The band was first put together in year 2000, under the name 'Dead Poets' and during the first year they focused on covers of various hard rock bands. Soon enough, however, they felt the need to write and play their own music: they started working on their first demo 'Some1', and changed the band name to Homerun. The name choice is both a tribute to the famous Gotthard's LP and a good description of the band sound, that in their ideas had to be tight, fast and tough as a baseball homerun hit.
During those months they played their songs along with covers in various gigs around Milan and Varese (north Italy), with a great and positive feedback from the public. Glad of that, they started working on a EP/demo with lyrics both in Italian and in English, Start Again, released in April 2005.
Start Again earned some outstanding reviews on magazines and webzines, and that's the reason why Homerun decided to leave gigs behind for a while, to dedicate more time and concentration working in studio to self-produce a real debut album. They wrote songs, set up their own recording studio, took care of every detail down to website and album artwork, and while some members of the band parted ways, longing for live playing, some new friends with new ideas and great experience joined them, until today.
In 2007 they wrote and self-produced Don't Stop (thanks to Matt's outstanding skills in recording and mixing). They got in their hands a real album, and it was by all means their own sound, their own ideas, their own lives.
Feeling confident about their brand new product, they finally met Frank Caruso, axeman from Arachnes, and Stefano 'Sebo' Xotta, who decided to believe in the project and help the band. Frank introduced them to the Italian largest indipendent distribution label, SELF Distribuzione, along with Gatti Promotion, and on December 2007 they finally signed their first contract...
Don't Stop, was ready to hit the shelves on April 24, 2008, in character of their very first and official debut album. The following summer, the rockband decided to record a video; they met together and wrote a storyboard upon the title track Don't Stop, and in September 2008 they started recording the first take.
The album scored a lot of good feedbacks and reviews on the best rock’n’heavy magazines and was chosen for the Rock Hard Magazine compilation. By receiving a good feedback from the public too, Don’t stop was released in Japan and Asia by the prestigious label Avalon/Marquee the same year. Soon after the band lost its bass player Valentino Bello and decided to write a new album, but unfortunately this did not represent a good choice for all components.
In 2009 Homerun found three new members: the bass player Paolo Luoni, the drummer William Battiston and then the guitar player Valerio Castiglioni. The reformed lineup was really close-knit from the first moment and throughout 2010 it worked hardly on the new album that was completed in March 2011.
On July Homerun signed with Tanzan Music and finally “BLACK WORLD” got a release date… September the 23rd, 2011.
